American Bone Health

American Bone Health (ABH) was founded in 2007 as a chapter-based community education and advocacy arm of the Foundation for Osteoporosis Education and Research (FORE). ABH originated in the Bay area of California, but its trained outreach volunteers have established chapters across the country. While ABH focuses on advocacy and patient education, FORE conducts clinical research and physician education programs to keep healthcare providers informed on the latest developments in osteoporosis screening and treatment techniques.

The National Osteoporosis Foundation

The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF), founded in 1984, provides materials for patient and physician awareness and education about osteoporosis. NOF also conducts advocacy at the federal level and provides materials for interested parties to conduct awareness campaigns and engage their legislators. A variety of osteoporosis support groups are also coordinated by NOF to work at the local level.
