Women In Government’s 2nd Edition of the Diabetes Legislative Toolkit aims to challenge legislators and constituents by promoting education, empowering individuals, and engaging the community. In March 2011, Women In Government launched the Diabetes Health Challenge with the intent to fight diabetes. Now the 2nd Edition of the Diabetes Legislative Toolkit can provide women state legislators with tools to promote diabetes education, activities to encourage better health, and social media ideas for diabetes awareness.
Our Diabetes Legislative Toolkit includes: fact sheets; frequently asked questions; sample legislation; steps on hosting a town hall; a how-to for launching a social media campaign; and other resources that will assist state legislators in reaching out to their constituents. Women In Government’s Diabetes Policy Resource Center will continue efforts to promote awareness, programs, and models of diabetes management and prevention that help improve quality of life for patients with diabetes.
