At the 18th Annual Midwestern Regional Conference, Women In Government featured the topic of adult learning. Cathy Brigham, PhD the Director of Academic Programs for the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning Learning.Org Organization spoke about her work with adult students and transforming their past knowledge into college credits in a uniformed and successful way. The Council for Adult & Experiential Learning is the leader in connecting learning and work for adults and has created a Prior Learning Assessment resource for adult learners, postsecondary institutions, employers, and workforce organizations. At the 12th Annual Southern Regional Conference, Rachel Gragg, MA, PhD Federal Policy Director for the National Skills Coalition, spoke about how with high unemployment throughout the nation, this is precisely the time to ensure that states are training the middle-skill workforce that will be critical to economic recovery and long-term success.
