Continuity of Care Policy Concerns

Oklahoma legislation seeks to implement written or oral notification and documented consent for transplant patient drugs: “An immunosuppressive drug shall not require prior authorization, step therapy, generic substitution, or quantity limits without express written or oral notification and the documented consent of the practitioner and the patient.”

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacies has published an article on generic substitution of medications and its impact on transplant patients.
