Women In Government featured a segment on building and maintaining partnerships with Offices of Women's Health at the 15th Annual Western Regional Conference in Portland, Oregon. The featured speaker, Katherine Bradley, is the Title Five Director and Administrator for the Office of Family Health in the Public Health Division at the Oregon Health Authority. She is responsible for the state programs of Maternal, Infant, and Child Health; Oral Health; Adolescent Health; Genetics; Women’s and Reproductive Health; Women Infants, and Children Nutrition Program (WIC); and Immunization. She spoke about her work and gave an update on pressing women's health policy issues facing the states, including both challenges and opportunities for public health officials working on women’s health. At Women In Government’s Second Annual Healthcare Summit a segment was featured on the role sexual health can play in overall health and well-being. This presentation provided an overview of female sexual desire, and more specifically, the effects of menopause and how it affects women’s overall health and well-being. Dr. Sheryl Kingsberg is the chief of behavioral medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and professor in Reproductive Biology and Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University. She spoke about her areas of clinical specialization including: sexual medicine; female sexual disorders; cognitive behavioral psychotherapy; menopause; pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders; psychological aspects of infertility; and psychological and sexual aspects of cancer.
