Women In Government Actions
American children are at a higher risk from firearms than any industrialized nation. It is estimated by the Centers For Disease Control that the rate of firearm deaths among kids under age 15 is almost 12 times higher in the United States than in 25 other industrialized countries combined. Legislators gathered at Women In Government programs to develop a Task Force to address gun violence as a public health issue. The Task Force members started a productive bi-partisan dialogue on gun violence with the purpose of developing specific action steps to follow and studied model programs at the state level.
